![]() I do realize that after I have created all of these additional libraries, I can go back and then add those patterns to my existing pattern library, but it's a lot of extra work. I have not yet found a (direct) way to add patterns from my layout to my existing pattern library. For example, if I am using three libraries, then the editor would show only three paths. The editor would display only the UNIQUE library paths. The PCB help file above does say that I can "add them to the existing one". It would be VERY helpful if DipTrace provided a Library Path Editor. ![]() DipTrace will actually import Altium component libraries, but when I try to export from Altium in the format DipTrace wants, it throws an invalid memory exception. Also, a large library is crucial since designing new components can lead to errors. If I want to save additional patterns from my layout, then I have to create a new library for that pattern also, and so on. The component and pattern libraries are good, help and support are good, and so far it looks like a nice alternative. C:DipTraceLibrariesComponents3M C:DipTraceLibrariesDatasheets3M C:DipTraceLibrariesPatterns3M This library is not complete it is a very limited/basic collection of only two series of 3M headers. Both Geda and DipTrace feature huge libraries of components. ![]() If I choose "User Patterns", my patten library doesnt open up, forcing me to create a whole new Library just for that one pattern. Component and Pattern editors support smart library structure and fast creation of components and patterns with integrated templates. When I attempt to save a pattern, that I created live while doing a layout, I choose "Save to Library". Select patterns on the design area, right-click one of them, and choose Save To Library from the submenu." Your schematic seems to be looking for the component in the user component library 'C:\Users\Allen Pitts\Documents\DipTrace\My Libraries\200408.eli', but it appears the new component has been stored in a library named 'Alpha Copy'. The DT PCB help topic says the following: "DipTrace PCB Layout module allows the designer to save selected patterns of the current circuit board as a new pattern library or add them to the existing one.
